Pima Heart & Vascular continues to invest in innovation that expands access to high-quality vascular care.
We’re proud to share that vascular surgeon Dr. Joshua Balderman completed the first Shockwave procedure performed in an office-based lab (OBL) in Tucson.
Shockwave therapy uses sound waves to break up hard calcium in arteries, improving blood flow and procedural outcomes for patients affected by Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD).
Performing this procedure in an OBL means patients can receive minimally-invasive, hospital-level care in a lower-cost, outpatient setting, delivered by a familiar, collaborative care team — without a hospital stay.
This milestone reflects how Pima Heart & Vascular is stronger than ever, advancing care through clinical collaboration, thoughtful investment, and a continued commitment to compassionate, patient-centered medicine.
